Questions & Answers
Can't find what you're looking for? If we don't stock it, we'll try to order it. Here are the questions we get asked most.
Right here. Across the Pond is a European grocery store and deli in New York City built specifically for this. We stock British staples — sausage rolls, crisps, biscuits, sweets, condiments, teas and proper meal deals. If we don't have something you're after, just ask and we'll look into ordering it.
Yes — and it's one of the only places in New York you actually can. We do British meal deals the proper way: sandwich, snack and a drink. The kind of lunch that's been completely absent from the NYC food scene until now.
We've got you. Across the Pond serves proper British sausage rolls in New York City — hot, flaky pastry, well-seasoned pork filling. Not an American version, the real thing. Available in-store as part of our hot eats.
We take tea seriously. We carry Yorkshire Tea, PG Tips, Twinings and a rotating selection of loose leaf blends and specialist teas. If there's a specific brand or blend you're after that we don't have, we can look at ordering it in for you.
Yes, and this one matters. We stock imported British Cadbury — not the US reformulation made under licence. There's a real difference and we know it. Dairy Milk, Roses, Heroes, Crunchie, Flake — the actual versions.
All stocked at Across the Pond. Walkers crisps in the proper flavours (prawn cocktail, cheese & onion, salt & vinegar), McVitie's Digestives, Hobnobs, Bourbons, Rich Tea — the full biscuit tin. Plus Tunnock's, Penguin bars and whatever else we can get our hands on.
Yes. HP Sauce, Heinz Baked Beans (UK recipe), Marmite, Bovril, Branston Pickle, Salad Cream — the condiment shelf that every British expat has been hunting for. We stock the pantry staples that make a proper British kitchen.
We carry a range of European and British sodas and soft drinks including Irn-Bru, Ribena, Vimto and continental sodas you won't find in a regular American supermarket. If there's a specific drink you're missing, let us know and we'll try to source it.
We're a full European grocery store, not just British. We carry goods from France (cheeses, mustards, preserves), Germany (cold cuts, rye bread, Haribo), Poland (pickles, pierogi, cold meats), Italy (pasta, olive oils, tinned tomatoes), Spain, Belgium and more. The range grows constantly — and if your country's food isn't represented yet, ask us.
Plenty. British classics like Jelly Babies, Wine Gums, Liquorice Allsorts, Sherbet Lemons and Tunnock's Teacakes. German sweets including Haribo originals (the European recipe), Kinder and Ritter Sport. Kinder Surprise too — which you famously can't get in standard US shops. We keep expanding the range so come in and see what's new.
That's one of the things that makes us different. If there's a specific brand, product, sauce, drink or ingredient from Europe you're looking for and we don't currently carry it — come in, drop us a message or email us and we'll do our best to track it down and order it in. We'd rather source it for you than tell you it doesn't exist here.
Gift hampers are coming soon. We'll be putting together curated selections of British and European goods — perfect for expats, food lovers, or sending to someone who needs a taste of home. Sign up to our newsletter below to get first access when they launch.
